ODEON - Large Hall

Stunning new musical score by the Danish composer Johannes Steinray for a full symphony orchestra plus a pop band, soloists, and choir. The music is an orchestrally lavish interpretation of both the life of the writer Hans Christian Andersen and selected characters and situations from some of his many fairy tales. The songs are a delightful blend of intimate ballads, fast-paced modern musical theatre, and moments of impressive cinematic grandeur.

The music had its world premiere in Odense for the opening of the H. C. Andersen Festivals 2026.

ANDERSEN is currently being created to become the definitive, international musical about Denmark’s greatest cultural figure of all time.
