And international and award-nominated production

of the Swedish musical sensation

December 2001 - June 2002

The Concert Hall of Aarhus

Falkoner Salen

Vejle Music Theatre

The temperamental American world chess champion Frederick Trumper is in Merano to defend his title against Russian chess champion Anatoly Sergievsky. It is however not only the title as the world’s best chess player that matters. A grand political game of nerves between the Cold War-era superpowers is unfolding behind the scenes and on the chessboard. Meanwhile, Frederick’s second Florence Vassy falls in love with Anatoly, and the love triangle is complicated even further when Anatoly’s wife Svetlana arrives. CHESS a love drama told with passion and great musical moments. CHESS a love drama told with passion and great musical moments.

JOYFUL, MAGNIFICENT EXPERIENCE. THE NEW DANISH VERSION OF CHESS IS NOT AT ALL INFERIOR TO THE GREAT MUSICALS WE EXPERIENCE IN LONDON’S THEATRELAND.
Vejle Amts Folkeblad
DANISH MUSICAL AUDIENCES NO LONGER NEED TO TRAVEL TO LONDON OR NEW YORK TO EXPERIENCE THE GREAT MUSICAL BUZZ THAT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN GREAT TALENT, GREAT AMBITIONS AND AN UNCOMPROMISING PENCHANT COME TOGETHER ON STAGE.
